What we do
We respond to any queries you may have relating to the Ministry of Justice services and the general powers and responsibilities of the following: the Department of Justice (General Affairs), the Department of Judicial Organisation, staff and services, the Prison Administration Department and the Juvenile Justice Department [IT].
We are also able to provide general information on the main service offered by judicial offices.
We cannot however comment on the merits of a particular judgment, go into detailed issues connected with the internal activities of a particular court office or provide legal consultancy or opinions.
Most frequently asked questions relate to the following: the competitive examinations organised by the four Ministry departments, registration on the Register of Auditors and Professionals, adoption, separation and divorce, transfers and mobility of Ministry staff, legal aid, criminal record certificates and certificates of dependants, contractual and pay conditions for Ministry staff, new legislation, applications for equivalence in qualifications, recognition of foreign professional qualifications and alternative measures to imprisonment.
Cost of the call
It is only possible to contact us from a fixed telephone. The cost will be the same as a local call from any town in Italy.

What to remember when you call
Our staff will take calls from Monday to Friday between 8.30 a.m. to 6 p.m. without interruption. You can even call during the lunch break, it is the time with the lowest traffic levels.
If you prefer to send us an E-mail you should include your telephone number with a note of the time you can be contacted. In some cases it may be easier to discuss your query over the phone.
If you call requesting details relating to a circular, an examination notice or a ministerial communication please provide details of the document concerned (date, protocol number, the issuing office …) to help our staff identify it as quickly as possible.
